Stornello 125 value
« on: July 05, 2016, 10:18:06 PM »
I found a cute little Guzzi 125cc 4 stroke and don't have a clue what I am looking at. I have just begun contact with the guy. He is asking $1700.

Any idea what this is and what it might be worth?  Assumed running and titled but I don't know yet.

The ad says "1967 Moto Guzzi 125cc four stroke 5000 original miles very complete and original missing only front fender"

That's a Stornello Sport (road version).  I have a Scrambler.  Looks to be a non-stock repaint with aftermarket solo seat.  Most of the unobtanium parts seem to be there, and you should be able to find a front fender on fleabay or Harpers.  If it's running and has a title, the asking price seems to be fair.  Keep in mind, 5K miles is alot on one of these little bikes.   With 8-10 hp., you're not getting anywhere quick.  Great Giro bikes, and are quite rare.

I bet you could talk him down to $1,500, which is a good price if it looks as good as pictured.
Let me know what you do.

I guess this is now a mute point. He got back to me this morning and it had already sold. So I guess it was worth the money to someone. I need a little single Guzzi or Ducati to play with.

Here is a nice Ducati 250 Monza.

If I didn't already have my later flat-side-tank model, I'd be all over this.   I prefer the look of these earlier ones with the round headlight housing and rounded fuel tank.

That would be nice if it was not a million miles away. I know I could get it shipped but it is not worth the hassle to me any more.
