I think it's an interesting custom build, but there's a surprising amount of rust pitting and corrosion for a "full nut and bolt restoration".  And is it missing air filters because the battery is in the way?

Well ... he was attempting to make it into a 1930's race bike  Curious , the Burgess mufflers were not used on race bikes of that era . Wonder what the reserve is ?

Well, the deposit required on sale ending is $2000 - as a rule of thumb that is usually 20-25% or so of the target sale price, so my estimate is that the reserve is likely in the range of $6-8000 with a hoped-for price in the $8-10,000 range. All this is, of course, a SWAG - but the guidelines for deposits and such tend to be pretty consistent for larger ticket items.

I think that's tied waxed string, like in the old days.

Sort of like you do on aircraft except it's a continuous string to cable the wires.

I think the individual ties are done when you're concerned about one of them getting broken.  The continuous type lets the whole bundle unravel when that happens.

Dental floss?

The stuff I've seen for sale recently, made for that purpose, is pretty similar to dental tape.  I've seen it done with round cross section waxed string too.

I thought the guzzi with the engine turned the wrong way was bad but at least it required talent. This is basically an Eldo with a bunch of stuff missing and the chrome painted over. Good luck.

"nut and bolt restoration"

yeah sure,

he replaced a handful of nuts and bolts but left the ones not too rusty in place

as for the front fender,

no it doesn't look cool,

it just looks like it's installed backwards... which it is

so at least we know the front fender came off in the "nut and bolt" restoration

I DID.

The eBay ad says it's "Ron Kologiski" selling the bike.   He's a genuine Guzzi Guy (not getting him confused with Ron Komoroski), I know I've met him at a couple rallies ... I don't think he's on this list, but dozens of people here are bound to know him .... ?

The general trend of the posts are sort of as if it's a totally unknown guy, with no Guzzi knowledge, who is selling the bike?

Tank emblems are wrong, fuel lines are run wrong and how do you close the tool boxes when the latch is missing?  The bike might be a good candidate for a real restoration.

Watching the auction with interest. I could build the same thing very easily with the parts left over from the Ambovert project.

The terms "restored" and "restoration" are grossly misused these days.

IMHO, "restored" means rebuilt to the original specifications; ie, the way it came from the factory.  In the car world, that means all the assembly proof marks are reproduced.

The thieves sellers on ebay throw the terms around as if it conveys extra value to their half-hearted rebuild.
