loop late model 5 spd right hand shifter

Ok, I gave away a lot of my loop parts and my 4 speed needs the rear cover reworked so all I have is a late model 5 speed with the modern rear cover, no place for the shift shaft.
So I decided to cut out the battery tray and use a left side brake pedal directly on the shift shaft of the rear cover. Then will use my right hand to shift or eventually learn to use my calf. Won't be any "speed shifting"!!

Now you need a foot clutch.

You are resourceful alright! and besides, it's a Guzzi, it has the torque,..just keep it in 5th and slip the clutch till you are rolling up to speed!

What do you need to do to the 4-speed rear cover?
I do shift shaft o-ring groove.
I do throwout bore restoration.

When I first met JB and saw he only had 1 working eye, I asked him what he does about depth perception 15 years ago?  It was like he didn't know what I was talking about.  So unlike us I guess he sees the world's issues different than we do.

I may contact you, Patrick about reworking the back cover. Yes, the throw out bore is gouged.
Zenand, I do pass through the Asheville area regularly, in fact I just rode back from Charlotte on the raTi a few days ago.
But Now I have been riding the bike, I am quickly getting used to the hand shifter. A lot to do when pulling up to an intersection, from hand signals and trying to downshift back to 1st!

Besides more time & money,no not right now. I have 2 complete loops,one eldo parts bike,one cx100 Lemans and an 850T,with one 850T3 parts bike . Hoping that should hold me for a little while ! On another note,are you coming to the Guzzi rally in Cruso N.C. on the 5th - 7th ?

A friend made billet aluminum adapters but the key is the piece of pipe cut to the exact width in between the spacers for the lower bolt.

Those hangers look like my design. however for the lower connector, I used two short bolts one on each side, and didn't use a long bolt with spacer. You must have trimmed the fins at the bottom of the Timing Cover. A word to the wise. I went through 2 sets of hanger brackets like that, one aluminum, one steel, and they all broke from vibration. I'm on my 3rd design now which is a two piece design. A flat link plate and a simple round spacer. This design has been good for over 2 years.

I went back and reviewed recent posts to make sure that nothing had happened that I hadn't heard about, like maybe you had a leg amputated or something.

Having found nothing pertinent, I do have a question ....

WHY would you subject yourself to something like this "steel and velcro calf shifter"?        If it's simply for the novelty of it, like wearing an eye patch over a good eye,  or removing the electric starter and bump-starting the bike, I suppose I can understand it ....

Well, the velcro thing was a joke!

One, I don't have the parts on hand to switch it back to a 5spd left foot shift. I have most but this transmission is from a 2003 or something and doesn't have the rear cover with the casting for the shifter. I really don't feel like swapping rear covers at this point.
I will most likely take Patrick up and send my 4 spd cover to him so he can re-machine the throw out bearing pocket and sleeve it so I can put new parts in it then put the 4 spd back in.

It's actually really easy to do. I am pretty much used to it now and doesn't even bother me in heavy traffic. Bad thing is it takes about 3 seconds per shift. By the time you pull the clutch in, take your hand off the throttle, slap the shifter, go back to the throttle, match the rpm and let the clutch back out.
