yeah, I was thinking about one of these during a time where I forgot I was financially limited. Then I remembered that I have to go find a couple of quarters to finish paying for my pizza.....

Probably the most exciting bike I've ever ridden.

Like a Guzzi on steroids. Lots of steroids.

I had the pleasure of riding one with Lee Conn leading the way. Simply an amazing motorcycle. I've been riding bikes for 45 years and have ridden just about everything and the Motus stands out as a top 5 in my life.

The Motus V-4 does not feel like any V-4 I've ridden.  It's totally unlike any Honda ST 1100/1300 or VFR. It's not a sewing machine.  It feels like a big VTwin to me with more power than any VTwin. Lots of engine feel feedback. I rode the R version.

The Motus has few frills. No ABS/traction control etc.

If they survive as a company, I fear they may be acquired by a big corporate sugar daddy (sound familiar?) who will set about civilizing the beast and making it cheaper to produce.

That was a great find...I think we should do a Motus factory tour en masse...get a bunch of Guzzi riders to descend on the site and go for test rides.

$30K isn't cheap...but it looks like a hell of a solid bike...

Uh , let's see , $1,500.00 California Jackals or Stones that will run forever , or a $30,000.00+ motorbike. Hmm $28,500.00 still buys a LOT of gas and tires . Wait , are you guys gonna surprise me with one of these at Cedar Vale next year ... meh , would rather have cash

I certainly would love to do a direct ride comparison of a MTSR vs my VFR1200 DCT. The SSS,ABS,DCT,and shaft drive, would be tough to beat.   I saved $26,500 vs a MTSR also....that said I'd still love to ring the MTSR's neck. I'll be on the lookout for a used one when they fall into the 15k range.

It looked like a pretty salty machine.  I'd like to ride one.  They look pretty solidly built too.

Yes, I'm sorta in that boat too.

I sold my R1200S that I owned 7-8 years because you can't ride slow on that thing.

I was/am very interested in a Motus R but, again, I would be hitching my wagon to a similar horse as the 1200S.  I dunno.

Love the sound, the look, driving position and build.  But the numbers 30k and 1650 cc, a bit steep for me. Wish them the best, might have to head out to the dealer in Livermore CA for a look see.

Crate engines were quoted at $10k with everything you need (ecu, ride by wire, etc), but that was 2013 and I'm not sure they were ready for sale yet.

Maybe you need to try a new R1200R. Loads of power and torque, but also trivially easy to putt around town in a civilized manner. I bought one a few weeks ago, now have almost 5,000 km on it, and I'm still impressed. I'm no longer the madman I once was (50 years ago), but the ability to effortlessly get around slower-moving traffic on a twisty 2-lane highway is exactly what I was after.

If I could figure out a way to get a Motus up here, I'd seriously consider owning one. I've been following their story since they started.

Compared with an older R1200S, the new water cooled R1200R is a rocket ship.  These new Beemers have some serious power.  Nothing like the older boxers IMO.  And you don't have to have a 26 in inseam to ride one.

Sorry,  but I disagree.  I've ridden both. The new water-cooled R is fast (as is its RS brother) but I still pick the '07 S.

The new R1200R and the one-year-only R1200S have virtually the same posted horsepower 125 vs 122 but the 1200S is about 50 pounds lighter. The ergonomics and steering geometry is set up more aggressive on the S model too.

The R1200S is a much tighter and svelte package than the water-cooled new R models. Sitting on the two, the new R feels larger than its greater weight.

Rumors are that BMW is readying a new version of the S.  However, the aging demographics of BMW riders may not be attracted by the riding posture of the '07 S model.

If they made a V twin version that made around 90hp i a bike around 500lbs that would be interesting. Having said that if I hit Lotto I'll have one in the garage. It's what Honda should have done with the ST1300.

For those of you who have not ridden a Motus, you need to go try one wherever you can get the opportunity.

I was skeptical before I rode one.

I've not ridden every iteration of Beemer boxer.  Perhaps there are exceptions.  But all seemed pretty bland to me until I rode the water boxers.  In fact, I did look at the last of the oil cooled RT models and didn't even ride it a few blocks.  Too tall and too bland.  I've ridden the new RT and RS.

I know the S and the HP2 were special bikes.  I've not ridden one.  I can imagine they were special and rare.

I'll just bet that the Motus owners will never ever have the type of rallies and camp outs that Guzzi owners are so fond of .

Sure they can.  Just ride one to a Guzzi rally.

I think Motus could fit well with the Guzzi crowd...in fact, I'd bet that if someone, ahem cough cough, would bring one to Cedar Vale next year, there might be a line of people wanting to take it for a test ride!  I'd love to ride one!
