This has always been my favorite rally for several reasons. First is the location. The campground is very nice, the food good, and the riding is simply the best. Second is that it's only about 6 or 7 hours from my digs. Third is the attendees who all manage to have and/or provide a good time. And it's usually nice weather despite being in early August.

However, I don't think I can tolerate the ride up there. I can't even make myself ride around here at all this time of year. The five hour torture to get to higher ground will probably keep me away this year, but I can always do the dishonorable thing and haul the EV up in the back of the pickup

You can believe me when I say that I'm nervous all the way up and afraid someone will see me that I know, or just as bad, someone will see a Guzzi being hauled like a common Harley

Gotta think this through.

I will be riding up from Palm Coast, Florida on Thursday and stopping at my daughters house in Covington, GA. Will be meeting up with some infamous dude Friday morning then riding up to the campground. Should be good fun.

Haul it to my place. We'll ride up from here. Only a bit over an hour before we start climbing mountains.

I do think this bike was hauled there before, no big deal, you can just say it doesn't run and you're getting it fixed.

Muley - you should trailer up this way and ride over through the mountains. Won't save you any time, but it is a great ride.

Family visit - from out of town

Let's see, I really want to see my no. 2 son (by 4 minutes), but his

is not on my list of honored quests.

This is going to be a tough call. BTW, I don't care if it rains, snows, sleets, or the river floods. It will be nicer UP THERE. It's the getting there I really hate.

And in the dumbass department, I inadvertently posted this in the GA Campout thread.

I plan to be at that one.

My plan is to leave out of Savannah Ga around 6:30 in the morning, rain or shine. 300 miles for me so it will be afternoon before I arrive. I plan on camping.

This will be my first Guzzi rally

and I look forward to it. I have put on a few COG rallies at BRMC so I am familiar with the campground and the riding area.
