I used to see those every day.  I lived in a college town and lot of students used them for cheap transportation.

Cheap beaters in their day, but worth a lot of money now (relative to their original cost) if you find one in complete condition.

When I think of the number of nice old cars destroyed in "Figure 8" and "Demolition Derby" events .... !

I have never seen one like that.

We had two C100's. Great machines. Got over 50mph out of mine with a tail wind and slight downhill, once. Suddenly made a funny noise and lost power. Got home but had to replace the exhaust valve as it was bent at a funny angle. I reckon she was pulling about 14,000 rpm. :azn:

Later upgraded my wife's one to a C90. Another great machine. :thumb:

Brilliant! If I could find one as good here I'd ride it to the pub every day!

When driving home from Phx saw a truck with trailer.  He must have had ten of those old Hondas in various states of repair.  Some were body/frame only, a couple were restored completely.  Almost looked like he took all his spares with him when he went on trips.  :)

Agreed.  Always like this piece of French culture! :thumb:  Just add a red beret and a baguette!

Almost bought this "original" example when I lived in Aachen, Germany 2004-2005.  Owner was asking 350 Euros.

Almost bought one of these when I lived in Germany also!  Sort of looks like a Centauro! :thumb:

There was a guy out here that had a Honda MB5.   The ad's not from here.  Posting it for those that don't know the bike.  Not a moped.

I agree ... I really like both the concept and the look of the bike.   It would make a great "personal bike" that wasn't a high-strung track bike or a weighty tourer, along the lines of my stripped SP ....

My '91 VX800 w/Rifle Sport fairing weighs about the same as a Guzzzi SP-CX100, but it accelerates faster and handles better.   With single front brake it doesn't stop as fast as a SP/CX and only get's 40-45 mpg. with it's SOHC 4 valve heads that have screw/nut adjiustment just like a Guzzi.  :boozing:

There's another outfit that now makes a similar new version of the old Honda Cub 50 but can't remember it's brand name.

Correct me if I am wrong but although I don't think we got the MB50 out here (4 strokes rule ok?) we did get the MB 100 which was a two stroke. I guess the MB 50 was a two stroke? What did it look like?

Gidday Muzz, I worked in a Honda dealership in the late 70s early 80s. Honda had the great little 6 speed MB50 and the trail bike version the MT50. Around the same time Honda also sold the hideous NF75 scooter. All 2 strokes.

The 250 Elsinore series for one. Can't remember the road designation (if that 50 trail that von Crump mentioned was an MT, the 250 could well have been an MT as well) but the CR 250 Red Rocket was a real fire breather in its day. It was made of magnesium castings, hence the paint. The road/trail version was made of aluminium.

In the latter days of street legal 2-strokes (the mid-seventies) Honda made a couple of cool dual sport bikes without valves: the MT250 and the MR175...
