Garmin question

OK so I just bought the maps of Europe for my Zumo 660 but there isn't enough space on it. Does anybody know how you uninstall maps already on the wretched thing? We need to delete the long outdated US maps.

I hooked mine up to the computer and used the file manager to delete them.

Can you add an SD card to extra memory?

PS mine is not a Zumo so not sure it will work the same.

File Manager is the easiest way, though you want to make sure the device is backed up first.

I believe if you use the Garmin Express application it will handle the backup and then overwrite the maps with the ones you want, reconciling the space requirement.

Yes, Garmin Express should warn you that you have not enough space and should instruct you through loading the Euro map onto an SD card.  You can call Garmin for support and advice but expect a long holding queue.  This is why I buy travel maps from Garmin already installed onto an SD card for the same price.  Takes some delivery waiting instead of direct download.  Once I have my default home maps on an SD card, I can pull that insert the travel SD and go.  After the trip, pull the travel SD card and install the home territory SD and you're back to the original mapping.

Yup, Michael is all up to speed with the new stuff and is gaining knowledge fast on the older bikes. When I'm away there will be a message on my phone giving Michael's number. I don't have a landline at the workshop any more, not worth it. I'll PM you Michaels # when I have a second!
