Bleedin' linked brakes !

Just some advice please. I'm about to change oil and brake fluid on a '94 Cali EV 1100. Are there any particular traps awaiting me when bleeding the linked brake circuit ? Thanks Huzo.

All pretty basic, don't let reservoir run out of fluid. Check to see if there's a bleeder on the brake splitter.

I used to bleed them the conventional way, pump the brake, open the bleed screw but found using a hand vacuum (Mity Vac) is much quicker. Put a tube on the bleed screw , open it, and pull the vacuum until you don't see air bubbles. Then do the other caliper.

Speed Bleeders,

several folks recommended them last year and I have now fitted then to all my bikes, brilliant little devices, buy the bleed tube and bag kit and you will have them bled in no time.

I have used the bleeders and bleed bag kit on new empty lines and calipers on a linked 750 S3, it took less than an hour to do the front and rear master cylinders and all three calipers and all new steel and rubber lines, and these are the double bleeder Brembo calipers, it would have been a nightmare without the speed bleeders.

Faster, just make sure you have a large bottle of brake fluid as it moves a lot of fluid very fast. As others have said, bleed the splitter,etc.
