From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉 Hawaii.

One road between major population centers so the traffic gets bad. Island is pretty small (but very pretty), I'd get island fever in no time. :p

Yeah, me too.  That's why I live on the Big Island.  At least I get the illusion of riding somewhere.

The only thing "cool" about the job is that at the missile range, they're always sending stuff up.  It's a test facility and sometimes they do blow up on the pad.

A buddy that lives in Tucson is now retired but he had something important to do with missile launches up to about a year ago or so. The job was killing him. Luckily he got out before it did, but the stress was incredible. And he is such a nice fellow.

He was with a couple of us last November at the Tucson astronomy club site on the west side when there was a test missile launch and we got to watch a great deal of it in our telescopes. Having Jim there to explain what was going on was a huge bonus (he didn't know there was going to be one, but knew the stages of the tests and what to look for since that is what he did - especially when they used them to shoot other missiles out of the sky).

OK, That is kinda what it sounded like from the description. Jim's worked out of there, and California. I don't think he misses it.

I looked and looked but they never said one word about the giant poisonous centipedes.

The Florida Tourist Bureau has done very wisely in calling their massive 2" long cockroaches "Waterbugs" or "Palmetto Bugs".   Perhaps their Hawaiian compatriots could do the same?

"Jumbo Jolly Jujubes"?

"Segmented Sammy"?

"Kamehameha Kids"?

Maybe they'll get some takers ...

That's from the Indeed.com job site.  They did have a posting for explosive demolitions expert.     When the job ends hard to go to UI and look for another explosive demolitions expert position.

Lannis, the Hawaiian name for those large animals is B-52s, cause they fly with a loud roar.
Sasquatch Jim        Humanoid, sort of.

Working at missile ranges is fun, unless you're the program manager  :)  Or if you are the guy next to the explosive stuff  :)

The B-52's are fun to watch when they launch in a house.  The women go nuts.  They like to land on moving targets.    After they land you can kill them.  You just have to watch where you do that otherwise they leave a big wad of goo.
