Standing in line at a bank.
« on: August 22, 2016, 08:53:36 PM »
How ironic that you have to stand in line when making a deposit especially cash.  I get the standing in line to withdraw cash but depositing?

Just give it to me, and for a percentage I'll relieve you of that chore.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Bank tellers are not paid very well yet highly scrutinized.. thus very careful not to make a mistake.. and yes, there are never enough of them when I enter a bank.

The Dollar Tree near my work is the worst. Always huge lines, and it's amazing how many people have to put things back at the checkout line because they don't have enough cash on them. If I have $5 cash, I can buy 7 $1 items, Right?

Tom, you are banking in the wrong bank! Lines are shorter than ever at my bank. With online banking, fewer customers enter the place.
It is not uncommon to find no line what so ever!

I was thinking of doing Ally banking.  I try to do as much as possible on-line but I have some tenants that pay in cash.

Dont you realize what an honor it is for you that the bank allows you to deposit your money with them?

Here in the frozen North if we don't feel like lining up stuff your cash in a bank machine, it counts it and if you agree it deposits it straight into your account.
Other banks let you deposit a cheque by snapping it with your phone, I haven't tried that yet.

Put it in an envelope with a deposit slip, then drop it in the overnight deposit drop box on the outside wall of the bank.  My banks around here still, for the most part, have them.

Steve.

You can either stick it in the night deposit or in the ATM machine.    I don't see any reason for going into a bank lobby any more unless I need to open a new account or something .... ?

A few years back went from Bank of America with it's lines and other assorted hassles to a locally owned bank. No regrets. If I do use the lobby I have rarely had to wait. If I did feel I have some problem with them the bank president is located right there, not in NY or someplace.

Cash?  What's that?  I use it only for the tip jar at my local coffee emporium.  Everything else gets paid by ApplePay or a charge card.  My main occasion for writing checks is to pay the IRS.  For depositing checks received, I use mobile pay on my iPhone.  I haven't been to a bank in a year or more.

I can't remember the last time I've been in a Bank lobby or seen a teller. I use USAA which is almost completely online.

Gotta take the cash when the renters pay in it.  I have some that use a debit card.

No can do.  Seems they have bugs with the ATM doing cash deposits.  They've been working on it.  When their new system is up.  No deposit slips either and cash can be deposited through the ATM.  The line is the option now.

The ATM at the credit union I use will take cash deposits.  Checks I can scan and deposit on line.

Seems to be a common occurrence these days.

Like Moto Guzzi.   Playing "Keep Up With The Yamazukis" and installing ECUs and FIs and ABSs and all that, and in the meantime forgot how to make a camshaft or a tappet.

Sounds like the Bank has all sorts of wonderful new ways to look at reports and send info to your Android .... and forgot how to take your money in the meantime.   If my bank didn't have a Night Deposit slot in the wall so I could put my money in it, I'd find another bank post-haste.   I've done it 3 times in 30 years, it's not so hard.

10 minutes, Maybe 12.  Hope they get the ATM fixed.  They did away with the deposit that Lannis describes but only for checks no cash.
