Getting to much exhaust popping with the stock map.

The factory map is pretty lean to begin with, and extra flow in the configuration you mention is likely. I'd adjust it, but not sure with which map, since I still have a stock exhaust.

Thinking of cutting the DB killer half-way and installing to help with some back pressure.

Cool...

Contact Beetle...here's the link to his site to buy the Upgraded Map for your Norge.  Scroll till you find Norge 8V.

Read the GuzziDiag thread thoroughly...famili arize yourself with the cables, drivers etc...order them, order the map, go thru the steps and you'll have an upgrade done in no time...just make sure not to skip any steps in the process.

Thanks. I know his map if for 'stock' but maybe a can do some trimming? For others thinking on going with a Agostini can, they really are not very loud with the DB killer out.

He can help you out...I thought as well that with the Agostini on I'm getting a louder pop than wth the stock can, but I'm not getting more popping...and with the new map it's 10
Times smoother on power delivery than stock so that part is preferential even if the popping were worse...honestly with earplugs and a helmet I don't find it bothersome.  Neighbors might hear it louder however!

Not sure if Mark's around. He and Leah went away about the same time we did. He may still be on holiday. I, (Well, Michael really!) have an issue with V7 I need to pick his brain about but I'll wait until he sticks his head up over the parapet rather than harassing him when he's taking a well deserved break from punching medical equipment!

Patience is a virtue.

Just landed back in the wide, browned-off land. Enjoying the delights of Sydney Airport before winging back to sleepyville.

Pete, pick away.

With regard to a map for an Agostini with dBk out on an 8V Norge. Not keen. I normally gurn and hang my arm over my head and flap my hand when someone wants a dBk out map. Open exhaust with dBk out on an 8V messes with exhaust gas speed and pressure waves in an unpleasant way. Do not ever mention 'back pressure' again, or I shall sacrifice a chook to the great Gu and ask Him to curse you with fetid toe-jam.

If you really want a No-dBk map, buy the Norge map and I will tweak it based on your feedback.

Ok, sounds like the plan, don't need full through exhaust anyways. Going to cut the DB killer and install, should get a little rumble, I'll be happy with that. Then will be the time to contact you about the Norge map.

OK, I'll email you but just for the info of other single TB V7 owners I've got a customer who I uploaded the single TB map upgrade from PADS into his MUIG3, seemed to be OK but when he started it again when it was cold it ran like a sack of poop. Unfortunately, rather than contacting me or Michael he took it somewhere else where the phase sensor was replaced to no avail. It's now back in my workshop where Michael is finding all sorts of cross threaded screws and the ECU is refusing to talk with GD or PADS and there are both spark and injector issues.

I'm pretty sure those are the result of some sort of mechanical butchery at the other place, my first guess is the new phase sensor depth is wrong and a signal isn't being generated from the phonic wheel but who knows right now?

Thing is this ISN'T the first time I've had factory upgrades for the MUIG-3 actually make things worse and as of now I'm black flagging them until I can work out why they are causing more issues than they are solving.

I'm not suggesting anything regarding the upgrades, simply advising caution. You have been warned.

Mark, I'll email you this evening. If you'd like to get the word from the horse's mouth? If you give Michael a ring he'd be very grateful and he can give you a lowdown on what is and isn't happening when he tries to connect.

Egads! Shaved apes, no doubt. I've been in touch with Michael, and will call later this AM.

Thanks Mark. Tried emailing but the connection here is really dodgy. I'll persevere but it's a bit hit and miss and stuff seems to just vanish!
