I'm looking for a mechanic who can replace a damaged cylinder liner and can repair the transmission on a '73 Eldorado in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Joe

Your "damaged cylinder liner" is an extremely flaking chrome bore, both cylinders will be effected. Chances are, with that much chrome missing, that it's found it's way to everywhere in the engine. Most likely the crank journals are scored and the oil pump worn. The engine should really be completely rebuilt - with the transmission out, you're half the way there anyway.

I do have a suggestion; box up the engine and transmission in two separate boxes, and put them on a Greyhound bus to Rohrersville, Maryland, care of Chas. Mullendore of Antietam Classic Cycles.   You won't be sorry.

Nobody has told you yet, so I guess it's up to me. Rather than sinking money into that money pit you should sell it and get one of those new fangled V7s. I will take it off your hands for.......50 bucks.

Wow, from the looks of the rest of the bike, REBUILD that sucker...woof! That's the upgraded front dual drum brake? I'd like to spend two days giving that ten coats of Zaino. (Show car polish) family heirloom...
