I think BMW knocked it out of the park with this one. How are the engines on these modern BMW twins? Last one I rode was a air-oil cooled R1150GS and it was uninspiring to say the least.

This year I traded an '04 R1150RT for a new liquid-cooled R1200R. Dropped around 85 lbs and added about 30 HP and 20 lb-ft of torque. The difference is night and day. The 'plain' (oil-cooled) R nine T runs about 15 HP less than the R1200R, dunno about the scrambler and other variants, but probably similar. Go test-ride one of the liquid-cooled boxers; you might be surprised.

Test rode a R-nine-T last year, I found it very similar to the V11 I ride now, the engine to me was less involving than the guzzi, didn't sound as good, generally seemed a little blander, in terms of better yes there were areas where it was better but nothing that would have convinced me to change, it was nice just didn't feel special, very similar to the Griso in some ways and if I was choosing between the two I would probably have taken the Griso.

Our nearest dealer has three 2015 R9T's in stock, discounted $1.5 k, and three 2016's....doesn't sound like a hot seller to me.

I mean, if it's not a world class racebike, then what's it good for?
