motus
« on: October 20, 2016, 06:57:40 PM »
I got to ride a Motus  mst it is a great bike and I would like one. The problem with this is a put a deposit on the MSTR a 40k bike but after checking on insurance it is 2k a year. May be a deal breaker that seems to high even for this motorcycle but it is a marriage bike (till death do us part)... Still trying to figure it all out. :bike-037:

I want one also, but geez, I can't justify that kind of money for a motorcycle.  I guess I will have to wait  a few years and get one used if even then.

Maybe when I retire and can ride a lot more, who knows.

The Breva 1100 is a better bike than I am a rider.  I just need to replace the rear shock and new seat and I would be good to go.

If it costs more to maintain and insure than it does in gas, I have to wonder whether it's worth the trouble...

Would LOVE to own a Motus MST myself...but at $35K-$40K...sadly, t is way out of reach for me, and I suspect the majority of rider on this forum. :embarrassed:   Still, a beautiful American sport touring motorcycle

Sport Touring, no ABS, going to be a tough sell.  Rumors of 2015s left on floor, going for big discounts.  Used one with low milage recently sold for $19,000.

You might make an offer for a left over and see what happens.

I *hate* monthly payments. I would hate 2K yearly payments for insurance even more. (!!) You'd look good on a Motus, Derek..  have you shopped around for insurance?

I did shop and found one that will insure it for 25% of the other one??? Around $550 one hurdle down now on to the next. It is a work in progress.

The Motus MSTR is probably the most exhilarating machine I've ever ridden.

I guess a modern chain wouldn't bother me.

Saw two of them in the parking lot at the Harvest Classic in Luckenback today.  Attention to detail on the bike is amazing.

Didn't see any $19,000 Motuses (Moti?) on Cycle Trader.  What dealer is discounting them?

Motus?  No thanks.  Can't afford it first of all, and wouldn't put that kind of money into a motorcycle.  There are many things in this world that are financially out of reach for me.  This is one of those things for which I wouldn't be reaching even if I could.

What bugs me the most is that a bike that expensive should have a brake lever that looks like it came off a Chinese scooter.
