Mana Bars on B11 - Errr I think I might have missunderstood.

I find the B11 standard bars bit of a reach and having read this forum extensively "thought" that the solution to this was to fit Mana bars to bring things up and back a bit

As luck would have it a set popped up on E-bay PLUS as day later the 1200 Sport bar mounts needed to fit them and I scored both of them 

However, when I offer them up to the bike they appear to be forward and down - ie opposite to what I expected 

Have I simply misunderstood, or do I need some more risers on to get it right. I know Dean Rose has some risers as well on his B11 with Mana bars

This doesn't directly address your question re the B11.  However, many of the Mana bar installations went on 1200 Sport model, and for most of us, were a major ergonomic improvement.  The OEM Sport bar was a mismatch for most of us 1200 Sport riders with short arms, and the Mana bar gave us additional lift and bars that were closer to the rider.

Since the stock B11 risers appear to be similar or identical to those on the Norge, I'd have to think that swapping them for 1200 Sport risers with Mana bars would result in a lower, more forward setup.

It sounds like you may be a good candidate for a set of Helibars.

If you decide to part with the 1200 Sport/Mana setup, you might consider listing them for sale here before going to eBay with them.

B11 here also.
I used some risers from Moto International, did a little rerouting of some lines, replaced the front brake lines with some 4" longer ( just easier in my case ), and all is well.

Brought the grips up and back.  I don't know by how much exactly, but "just about right" for me.

It feels like if I make a grip on top of the existing bars I'd be pretty much be where I'd like to be. Is that about what you achieved Ken?

You can see why I thought I was onto a good thing, plus I like the look of tubular bars

I don't like the look of the HeliBars - they look too clunky so MI risers might be the way to go

I'm happy to sell what I have as a kit for the £145 I paid plus any shipping from the UK if any one is interested.

  That sounds about right, a grip taller and a grip back.  BIG difference.

  I read where some were able to reroute the brake hoses ( they are indeed hoses, not lines, but that is a different discussion).

  I had some made to the same configuration as OEM, but added 4" from the master cylinder.  In hind sight that was a bit much, but it doesn't get in the way so all is well.

  Plus, you get to replace that old brake fluid with new !!!!

I put 1 1/2 inch risers on mine and it works great with the Mana bars on the B11.

I'm running Sport 1200 bar clamps & a Protaper KX High bar on my B11

When I wanted less reach I added a 1.5" set of Rox risers on and it is perfect,

Have no idea, never bothered to measure. Just put them on and went for a ride and been doing the same since.

One thing to be careful of is the spacing between the allen bolts on the B1200 Sport mounts. They are a bit wider spaced than many riser kits, and I got caught out by that one. I think mine are around 45mm apart, and the kit I ordered, didn't list the spacing, but had adjustment, just not enough adjustment. I've got a Yamaha XSR-900 bar on my Sport,  but at the time, I was playing around with 3 sets of bars, a lack of slack in the wiring, and difficulty getting the left hand switchgear to clear the tank at full lock.
