The Progressive Motorcycle show.
« on: November 20, 2016, 08:39:30 PM »
Went to Long Beach for the annual show.......sorry to say, meh.

Nothing new.  Triumph not there, of course Guzzi wasn't there.  Nothing really reached out and grabbed my attention.

5 of us rode down there from Ventura County, on the only day it rained in So. Cal in 2016 !!!!

I was thinking about going there, but my friends boat work was priority.

Let me/us know of the next time for a LA Ca, area get together!!!

Damn, it did pour a bit. I got lucky and only a very light rain on the way home about 4 pm.

And no show scheduled for 2016 in NorCal.  Last year Sacramento, before that San Mateo. For this year it sounds like I didn't miss anything.

As usual, Piaggio and Triumph were no shows. Congrats to Eric Buell, who was there all 3 days, and was talking to anyone who approached him.      When I sat on the BMW 1200R, I thought the "standard" ergos were perfect imo. I wonder why MG cannot build a similiar bike?

This Bike Show is dead to me. They kicked Houston off the circuit in 2008 ish. Houston Metro /South Texas is one of the biggest motorcycle markets in the US. We deserve better. The motorcycle shows were very enjoyable to attend.

For some reason they moved the Seattle show to Portland?
Sorry, not for me.

Because there is better bikers, beer and coffee in Portland?

But more likely it's because it was cheaper. I think that's what I heard from some of the people in the know.

I thought about riding down from Las Vegas. I went and looked at the website, which (as far as I'm concerned) should tell me why it would be a "good thing" for me to go.

Nothing there motivated me. At all. There was more material on how to pay extra for a VIP tour than there was on the exhibitors.

I went riding locally instead. I enjoyed that...
