Finally a perfect day for a ride
« on: November 25, 2016, 07:48:26 PM »
Winter's been a bit slow to leave this year in my part of the world.
Finally scored a free day with no wind and temps in the low 20's.
I made the most of it  :azn:

Perfect weather conditions!  We're just entering winter here in the center of North America.  No two-wheeling for 4-5 months.  Ugh.

Hey Clancy, how is that V7 running with the new mapping, etc?  (Remind me, V7, or V7II?)

Thanks,
Steve.

Craig's is a V7-II Stone. He's running one of Mark's maps, not sure f it's a custom job or just an 'Off the Shelf' number.

I'm about to take the Griso out for a bit of a squirt I think!

Yes , as in the body of the text  He is coming OUT of Winter . I think the only countries not using the Metric system are Liberia , Myanmar (Burma) and the U.S. Seems we don't have any members in 2 of those countries

Mark , love the word "egads" , always thought it was mostly an Americanism . Is it common in OZ , or is it similar to the way 'Muricans that communicate with Ozzies use "good on ya" ?

Dirty little secret is that both Mark and I are both having a hoot on the 'Racer'. If they'd just put it in a modern chassis it would be a super-hoot!

Nah. If I'm careful I can get 320 to a tank. It's 731km from here to Ballarat. I'd need two stops. Only a 15 Litre tank mind.....

Careful, you might get to *like* small blocks.  Oh, I agree, a modern chassis would make it more capable, but apparently the targeted market doesn't know the difference. <shrug>

 Dusty

Celsius to Farenheit - F = (9/5 * C) + 32

For those that like to do the math in your head:

double the celsius number - 30 * 2 = 60
subtract 10% - 60 - 6 = 54
add 32 - 54 + 32 = 86

Steve, I've got the V7-II.
Mark's been flinging me a few maps to try out.
I've been 'cycling' through them and giving feedback as best I can.
Nothing can beat trying them out for himself though, so I'm keen to use anything he develops from flogging Pete's racer.
Cheers

Hey Craig, Jude and I did the Wee Jasper loop yesterday, weather was perfect but as we were returning to Cotter via the Mountain Spring Rd. what should come looming over horizon going the other way but a red V7 'Classic'! Two up and handling that little bit of dirt with aplomb. Not one I sold or am familiar with but I'm sure if he's local I'll meet him soon enough!

Unfortunately I was busy with family stuff yesterday, otherwide I would've been out there again & bumped into you.

I've met a Yass local with a red V7-II Special (bought in Melbourne), but I haven't seen the red Classic about.
At the DGR there was a yellow & black Special and a 13-15 Racer.
Also seen a white V7 Special in Belco.

Were you guys on the Mana?
I'm starting to enjoy that stretch of dirt now that I'm turning the Traction Control off when I get to it.
(I got pissed off when a guy on a Triumph Scrambler zipped past me while I just toddled along, and decided it was time I got better at dirt instead of just putting up with it till I got back on the bitumen).

I'm free of kids Friday and finish work early afternoon. Might go for a ride out your way.
I assume you'll be at the pub after work
