Here's a new invention in forced air technology for internal compression engines. Other than the obvious visual downside, the simple mechanical operation of this device would otherwise complement the simple nature and the mild power of the small-block Guzzi (one per cylinder).

Pancake-like design can easily be adapted to function as a parts catcher too! Now thats handy!

From what they described, it seems like a pretty neat idea.   I'm sure is could be designed in to a motorcycle so it didn't look ridiculous.  The amount of boost it's capable of is a typical street kind of pressure that doens't require a lot of special engine design.

One other downside is that it needs to be connected an exact distance downstream from the exhaust port(s); if not for this, it could have been disguised as a saddlebag perhaps. They also don't mention if crossover pipes pose a problem on twins.

Sounds like it would only be effective over a narrow RPM range.

Yes. It seems a lot like a tuned expansion pipe for a two-stroke, but with a diaphragm in the way. I'm doubtful and would want to see a 3rd party evaluation. After building a new pipe, etc., it would be too easy to fool yourself into thinking your investment was worthwhile.

They show dynamometer curves for before and after on the KTM 390.  I realize anything can be faked, but I am going with the assumption that it's real data.  There's nothing narrow banded or peaky about the curve they show.

What long run, and who the heck is Alter Ego anyway? It's not like Rolls Royce risking its reputation, is it? Quick-buck scam artists with a Sharpie.
