(NGC) - She has done good!
« on: December 04, 2016, 06:40:10 PM »
Back around 2007 or so I assisted this young lady to strapped in etc. for her first glider ride at age 15. She took to it like fish to water or bird to flight I guess. Anyway after this she has a slot flying KC-135s. Way to go girl!

I know how you feel. I got to pin my daughter's wings when she graduated third in her class from the Army Rotary Wing school. She flew OH-58Ds. Ten years past, she is now a mom (twice) and has taken over a Shadow UAV platoon in the Oregon National Guard. My grandfather flew for the Signal Corps during WW1, my cousin flew with the VMF214 in WW2, and another cousin flew OH23s in Korea. I like that she kept that aviation vibe in the family.

Tres cool!

We had a young lady in our soaring club who was quite an accomplished glider pilot.  She graduated from Rice, and was at Baylor Medical School when her boyfriend bought her a helicopter lesson.  She dumped med. school and joined the Army, where she now flies helicopters for a living.

Aviating is dangerous in that it's highly addictive.  Kind of like another activity we engage in.
