Nah Charlie

The Magni came predated with that 60's or 70's racer look from new, IMHO a Le Mans MKI looks more modern than the Magni.

The minute I seen one I just knew I had to have one, then like an idiot I bought a Daytona instead.

My only fear would be that a PO would look at what I've done to it & tell me I've ruined a classic design  :embarrassed:

But the guy with an original Stonello might have said the Magni is too modern  :)

Your friend should go ride a few new bikes in his price range.  If he loves one, then he should get it.  If on the other hand, he's not very impressed, then pouring money in to the old Kbike might make sense.  But some of the new bikes are just so much better to ride than old iron, you can't know tell you try one.

Oops, sorry, threads over...everyone is staring at the Magni, can't you tell..

Speaking of Magnis.. I was up visiting the Kid in Wisconsin last weekend, and I sat on a friend's  yellow Magni carb sport. Uhhhh, I looked *good* on that. Sorry, no pix. Forgot my camera. It was amazing.. how light it felt compared to a stocker.

That's a revelation to me Chuck I've NEVER heard or seen any yellow Magnis.

Next time take a camera for goodness sake I'd love to see a picture

Anyway as usual I've dragged this completely off topic which was not my intention

Speaking of YELLOW....

...and back to the topic of upgrading suspension on an old BMW brick.  This does not have to be expensive if you have some mechanical skills and patience. I found a K75s that was not running, and had a blown-out Ohlins shock on it (and internally upgraded forks). I got it (the whole bike, not just the shock) for $500.  I spent $400 on a total rebuild and new spring.  Moved my other suspension to the donor bike, got it running and will sell it.  It will be a free suspension upgrade - and I might even pocket a little extra cash.

(PS - I know the reservoir is not mounted correctly. That was temporary and I already addressed it)

The "operation" requires some space, and is best done while you have the engine out of another bike... (Guzzi-Scura content)
