Also want to point out Part D is perscriptions part of Medicare not a Medigap/Supplement policy. Many people are so hung up on cost that they don't realize what they actually have in their policies. Payments to you, Coverage for damage, payments for being hit by uninsured and underinsured are all separate components. Insurance is to mitigate risk. You are transferring the risk to an Insurance Company. I've been riding 48 years. I had ton's of crashes when I was young. I've had 2 motorcycles stolen. I received pretty good compensation. I've had no claims in 37 years. Coming up on my 60th Birthday. I don't feel as lucky as I used to be.
My motorcycle insurance is dirt cheap at $189 for full coverage(No PIP, no under/not insured). I run full limits(300k/500K), uninsure/underinsured 100K , PIP and 50K property damage +towing +1200 for rental car on my personal cars. All this doesn't cost me more $600 per vehicle per year($1800+/-). My dirt cheap full coverage motorcycle insurance is not protecting me in the event of a catastrophic crash with injuries(especially if the other person is underinsured/no insurance). Review your coverages with your insurance agent. Know what is covered
