Part numbers
« on: December 23, 2016, 03:35:39 AM »
Good morning everybody.

I have managed to put back on the road my V75 PA, which has been "bricked" on the highway few weeks ago.

Now I need to fix an annoying problem with the starter motor: it doesn't always crank, and even hammering it doesn't always fix the problem.  :violent1:
I need to get a new one. The original part has long since lost its label, so I have no clue which part to look for.

Do you know of any resource on the internet, where I can pick OEM part numbers for MG?

Thanks

Look around on sale sites. Newer starters fit right on. The price from Guzzi is 3 or 4 times what it should cost

It might not be the starter motor that is at fault, but instead the way the starter relay is wired. If it's like the older small-blocks, the current to that relay takes a very long and convoluted path with lots of connections along the way. If the battery isn't close to "perfect" or if any of those connections is dirty/corroded, then you get a click instead of the starter cranking.
