The Clan sorta on topic, rant
« on: February 03, 2017, 10:10:39 AM »
So I tried to sign up to this brain fart of a marketing idea when it was published on this website it will be amusing at least and maybe I'll have an idea when GMG is on. The problem was there was no listing for my newest Moto Guzzi and it also wanted a registration number. Its not road registrable you !@#$ing numbskulls it can't be registered it left the factory like that. This confused the marketing girl that had been left to get this mess off the ground it clearly wasn't on their list of bikes they had given her.

So I hear a big fat nada for 18months two years, I have no idea completely lost track. I get an e-mail today the clan would like your input in a survey. Ah !@#$ it, what the latest Moto Guzzi you have purchased big long list of bikes Falcone 500, Super Alice, the truly horrid V35 the Magni 1000's 1100's and 1200's It may have even had the 250 fours can't remember out of the list I had to select other hysterical model because again my bike is not listed.

There was other laughable stuff like I find the clan really useful, didn't realise I was a member havn't heard jack for years. I recommend Guzzi to my friends, depends if I want to keep them as friends. Motoguzzi is the most important thing in my life, Moto Guzzi is a good company more similar crap along the lines do you think of Guzzi like Harley fans think of Harley? no please piss off and it would be nice if you went back to making bikes and not underwhelming crap boxes.  :Beating_A_Dead_Hors e_by_liviu

Seemingly Guzzi are completely unaware of a try hard piece of munt they punched out on the 00's which had and still has the distinction of the fastest thing they have ever made and are probably wondering why people don't want to engage with this kind of crap.

I signed up last year. When I tried to add a second motorcycle (I don't know what posessed me to do that!), it crashed and since then won't accept my password. I click on "Forgot Password", get a link to change it (which I do!), and then it tells me "Invalid password"). I gave up!

When I got the new Stelvio I thought I'd try again with a new VIN and a new email address. This was in December. I'm still waiting to be approved!

I got the same email as you a couple of hours ago asking me to complete the survey. I wanted to tell them how I feel about "The Clan" so I clicked on the link with my mobile device. It crashed after the first page.

There's probably somebody in Italy wondering why they have so few members!

I had the same problem with "The Clan", and even more problem with "Your Pride" on the US Guzzi site; that page won't even open.

  You guys might talk to Bad Chad.. I think he's a Clan member. Maybe he'll give you the secret handshake?  :boozing:
And Guzzi wonders why.. oh never mind. I will never understand the powers that be at Guzzi. Especially marketing.

Piaggio's online social media marketing efforts were apparently designed by the same people as the dealer online systems for parts ordering etc. Ask any dealer about the fun of working with those...

Italy and Europe think differently than "western " countries.

Living in Germany and dealing with European beuracracy is very stressful.

They just don't think they same way westerners think.

Most of Europe is considered part of Western Society. Although German bureaucracy something about in Hell the cooks are British, the Mechanics are French, the Police are German, the Lovers are Swiss and its all organised by the Italians.

In Sydney a bloke with the rather dubious name of Dick Smith managed to get the trains to run on time. He worked out on average when they arrived and adjusted the time table to reflect that.

I also tried to join shortly after it was announced. I gave up in frustration - can't recall the details.

As to your motorcycle, which 00's model is the fastest thing they ever made?  Your bike(s) don't show in your posts.

An MGS, the bike I get the impression Piaggio would like everyone to just quietly forget about because it doesn't fit in with their current marketing strategy. Which reminds me need to get the old 1100 sport for a run soon.

Ah... yes. Well the forget-about-it strategy worked on me. That's a "fantasy bike" to me - but you're "livin' the dream."   :thumb:
