Thanks. He's quite a fellow. The heartworm treatment starts soon and I've never had an animal go through it. Hoping very much that the infestation is not too severe - it can be dangerous killing those worms.
I am sure you know that you have to keep the dog quite during the treatment. If it is an active dog it will take some patience but well worth it.
Good find. You can see by the black "ticking" or streaking on the white coat that it is a mix. Full BCs do not have that kind of streaking. My first of 3 BCs was a mix and lived to be a grand old dame just shy of her 18 birthday. My 2nd BC was a Blue Merle and my last one was a standard black and white. All rescued and all great. The Merle was an amazingly athletic dog by even by BC standards: he defied the laws of physics.
