Mapping Guzzi Stelvio 2009

Hello,

I am Ben from the Netherlands.
I ride a Guzzi Stelvio 4v from 2009 with ABS

I enjoy it a lot but i was fiddling with guzzidiag.
Now i disable the lambda sensors, en the engine runs even better then before.

But i was wondering if there is a map available for my guzzi, wich would give my Guzzi even more torque from down below.

Its a stock Guzzi with a carbon mistral exhaust.

I heared it would run better on the mapping of a newer stelvio, but im not sure where to find those mappings.

 Beetle here makes mappings, look at griso.org They aren't  free but considered the time he put in, cheap.

Most important question is has it been rollerised? If not, get it done before anything else and then worry about the mapping.

Ben, I don't have a map for that exhaust, but you are welcome to try the 1-lambda map I do have.

Welcome to the forum Ben. The two respondents to your posts (Beetle and Roper), are people you must trust. They have both contributed to my Norge and I reckon it is perfect. Enjoy your bike and don't delay checking what Pete Roper said, also ask for advice when you need it, from here. I will be in the Netherlands soon on my Norge visiting friends in Tilburg and Appledorn, and for sure we could meet and enjoy a coffee !! Also, do you understand the significance of checking if your bike has roller or flat tap pets ?

Hi Ben,
I have Stelvio 4V 2008 with 1 lambda with stock intake and exhaust.

I remaped my bike befor twoo weeks by Beetle map. I feeling, the Guzzi is better in low RPM, slower ride is smoother (in city) and has lower fuel consumption (maybe 05l/100km).

It was my first experience with GuzziDiag, and remaps.

@roper: You are the first to tell me about the different cams, so if i get my VIN number i can get check if its been done by a recall?
Or how can i check if i have flat tappets or rollers?

@huzo I read some on the internet just now about these "rollers/ flat tappets" I understand it would give my bike a more linear power curve en better reliability?

Ben, this has been covered many times before, just take a rocker cover off and have a look.

Here are two disassembled camboxes. The one on the left is e dead flat tappet box. The one on the tight is a roller tapper box.



You will notice that the holes in the LH box that the tappets run in are much smaller than the ones in the box on the right. The flat tappet motors also have a small 'Dumbell' shaped pushrod sitting in a *Tube* in the tappet. The Rollers have a *Bridge* with a tower on top.

If you still have a flat tappet engine it has to be rollerised or it will fail with possible worse damage.
