I have a set of CRG bar ends on my 83 Le Mans. The bike came without any mirrors when I took possession, so I cannot comment on the OEM mirrors.

Pro  for the CRG's:
They clear my elbows, so the visibility is not obstructed.
The CRG's are good quality, and fold in for storage and clearance.

Cons:
The mirrors are very small, which takes some adjustment in use.

Have any of you guys ran bar end mirrors. im going to need mirrors so i think ill go with bar end mirrors.

The primary benefit no matter what anyone says is Aesthetics, a well designed high mount mirror will always be superior.
However a quality bar end will be a good alternative especially if they are readily adjustable and in some instances will be more effective especially on a sport bike where you can usually only see you shoulders.
The main downside is the time taken to check the mirror and that they can take you eye away from the road ahead and also the extra width for some models especially if you operate in traffic and lane split.
Yes I have bar ends on my Griso.

Depending on what type you have and how you adjust them, they can come out roughly in the same place as the long stalk type.  I like the lack of vibration because of their very short stalks.

Here's one of the cheapie $15/pair ones I use on my 250.  I have similar ones on my Mille, my H2, and my DT100.  You can see that it could be pivoted up to be just about in a "stock" location, if desired.  The extension outboard of the mirror is the stock slider the Ninja 250 comes with.

Just me but I think I see better out of these than what my stocks provided with no vibration.

I've had CRG Lane Splitters. My current Arrows on my V7 are better for visibility but I do miss the look of the round LS. Might switch back at some point.

I have lane splitters on the Mighty Scura and Aero Lario. If you can see a car in the mirrors.. it's RIGHT THERE.. it takes a little getting used to.

:1: CRG Lane Splitter Bar End Mirrors if you're going for the Ace Cafe look.  They're so much more attractive than the stock "Mickey Mouse Ear" mirrors-on-a-stalk that most modern bikes have. That's the deal, looks. Not as efficient, but good looking on the right bike.

I had CRGs bar ends on my Griso and now have them on my V7.

Advantages:  You see nothing but what you want to see.  The image is rock solid stable.  They fold in for storage and parking.  They look great and are a quality product.

Disadvantages:  I don't "see" any....

added the crg's on the tuono, much better rear view. No longer looking at my arms and like the adjust ability. Flick out of the way in the garage which is nice. No reason you couldn't run both I suppose.

Hated em. You need to turn your head over and down to look. With mirrors on stalks at a decent height and in front of the bars, I can see a wider view just with a  glance and no head movement.  When it comes to mirrors- I'm not going to sacrifice function for style

Get the $15 ones. I have them and they work fine. Plus if you break one just get another pair. Nothing to lose.

I tried a couple of different round clamp on types. I thought they sucked. I went back to the napoleon mirror, steady as a rock, great vision. And you can use the word Napoleon in a sentence.

I have the Napoleon's on my Scura and my K75s. They do look cool, but I also like the visibility better than the lollipop mirrors that were on both of the those bikes.

I've got CRG lanesplitters on my Monster and they're great.

When researching mirrors for my Guzzi, I fitted them for a test run but found them too low and far back for use with clip-ons, so went with a pair of OEM style 'Mickey-Mouse ear' mirrors.

I think a different style of bar-end mirror would be OK and I may look into it but they would need to be the type that sit ahead of and above the bar-end to work satisfactorily IMO.

I have used them on several bikes because they give a neat appearance....But me or someone or something always seems to knock the mirrors out of adjustment......I now use low profile aftermarket mirrors mounted in the traditional position...

I have a set of Napoleons on the CX and the CRG's on the 1000S and for functionality, the Napoleons are the best of the two.

Phang is right, Huzo.  I mentioned it's on my 250.  I should have said "Ninja 250".  I would love to have a Griso, however.

In this photo, the left mirror is not far from a traditional long-stalk location:

it looks familiar to me because my Kawasaki W400 has the exact switch/master cylinder combination.

I am surprise no one mention Halcyon?

I bought a set for my V7 Sport, they are very well made but I am not sure how they perform on bike as they are still in the box.

I have the cheap $15(even cheaper on ebay) ones on my 500 Triumph cafe racer and they are great. They are the first mirrors I've had that don't vibrate on it.

Yes, Halcyon! they do perform well. Two mirror head sized are available. Not cheap compared to 15 bux, but average to better price compared to CRG. Flat glass, no vibes.

Right, I said $15 because the first set I bought were something like $14 or $15, but I just got another pair for spares yesterday, and they were $10 including shipping.

I do modify them by milling the gap between the ends of the clamp halves wider, so that if the bike falls over or gets bumped from the side, the stalk can pivot into the gap as the mirror pivots up, rather than hitting the bracket and breaking something.  A belt sander or hack saw could be used as well.

I've been using the stock mirrors on my 14 Stone with extenders I got from Dime City.  They raised and moved out the stalks where I wasn't looking at mostly my arms and a little of the road.  I like bar ends but didn't want to sacrifice the narrow profile of the V7.  Well I finally got my GIVI bags and mounts so now the bike is not so narrow.  I just installed Napoleon mirrors and love them.  Very high quality stuff.
