Transmission oil drain plug on 1200 Sport , Breda 1100 or Norge?

Is the drain plug located just below the transmission fill hole facing the ground? First time doing it myself.  Looks like the exhaust pipe and center stand are all in the way of it raining !

Yep .... It can be a mess.  For my 1200 Sport, I made a plastic drain for the tranny fluid  by cutting a diagonal piece from an oil container.  I could slip it below the drain plug, and direct it to the drain pan.  It permitted me to provide a path from the drain plug to the drain pan for tranny oil.  The bike designers didn't consider the fact that fluids have to be drained.

I roll my Norge onto the scissor jack with the front wheel clamped, this allows the centre stand to remain out of the way and only a small amount gets on the pipes. It always smells good after you've done your service and the oil is burning off.

 I was able to get both The final drive and transmission oil's changed. The transmission oil I created a cardboard drain but the Fumoto valve looks great! What size would fit my 1200 sport?

I would also like to get one for the engine oil too. Their website doesn't list motorcycles. Do both drain plugs use the same size and thread size?

I think we decided in a recent thread that the engine drain plug is m10x1.5.  Don't know about the 6-speed gearboxes.

Yes, 10x1.5. Six speeds are the same.

Fumoto does not make a valve in the M10x1.5 size - matter of fact, they only make one in M10 at all, in a 1.25 thread pitch. See the complete list at http://www.fumotousa.com/products.php

I had a conversation by email with one of their staff, and he said they are looking at adding more sizes to the line. I suggested the M10x1.5 as a common size (I've seen i on other metric bikes), and we also discussed the limitations of their design at sizes smaller than M10; M8 (used on dirt bikes, for example) might drain too slowly to meet desired performance.

I ruined the threads on my Norge tranny drain, had to put in a helicoil repair. Consequently I suck the oil out now so don't hafta remove the plug. Stupid putting too much torque on it, but you can't very well put a torque wrench on it.

Yes, I stripped my Griso's trans plug too, I think while trying to read a torque wrench upside down. I fixed it with a Timesert, which is stronger than the original threads.. I also compared the thickness of the Griso's threaded material against my T3's seat, and found it is over a millimeter thinner, and so easier to strip, so take care.
