The last time I used the cruise control it worked. I did not use the cruise control  on the ride when the service word showed up, I have not tried the cc or driven the bike since seeing the "service " warning  ( not the wrench) I know how to eliminate the wrench, Thanks, Pete for answers, will keep following to see what I can learn . Thanks John

See if the CC is working. If it isn't it's most likely the clutch or brake light switches as these are linked to the CC.

Thanks, ... no I don't  know how to access on bike, in fact I just got this alaris just for this "service" warning,  & the electronics are all new to me. Appreciate any help I can get

I don't have a 1400 myself, so can't provide the exact procedure for that bike, but I'm sure someone here can help.

Thanks to everyone for your help,....... Pete, I think your on to something;  just took the bike out for a spin on the freeway, and could NOT get the Cruise Control  to go on. Do you know if there is a way to isolate whether it the clutch switch or brake switch or should I order each (maybe have one become a spare?)  Thank you Pete as you seem to have nailed it. At least found something not working.

I also have a Cal 1400 with the SERVICE warning. Is there a way to display the diagnosis code on the dash? How about with Guzzidiag?

Also, on the 1400's, how do you reset the wrench icon without PADS?

Yes, Guzzidiag will diagnostic errors, I'm yet to see them on the dash but then I prefer to check things directly with Guzzidiag.

Reset service wrench icon code is 34534 which I discovered last year.  Yell if you need instructions how to apply it, but it is quite straightforward.

If the brake lights work it's unlikely to be the brake light switches which leaves the clutch......

Today I had same problem as Dave & Joe, different bike, different symptom but I bet it's same part.
Ducati Scrambler wouldn't start in gear with clutch pulled in
Pathetic micro switch bent itself to not function
Fixed with pliers but next time it gets bypassed, nonsense safety switch for fools and their lawyers in this case but for cruise control cut it's pretty important.

No code on dash on Scrambler just an obvious fault

Better switch called for, if hydraulic clutch, pressure switch banjo bolt would solve it

Pressure switch with banjo bolt needs to much pressure to switch. Won't work. Normally the microswitch has a long life.

Easy to check with guzzidiag.

Hi all , just wanted to get back with the results, first, thanks a lot to pete, & kiwi dave, ...I found  the switch online, my friend soldered on the original wire loom, installed the switch,  & cleared the "Service" word by clearing the TDC using the alaris (techno-research). Hope this helps anyone else with similar problem.
