Since Peter Stevens Imports took over importing Guzzis, only Peter Stevens dealerships are Guzzi dealers. The entire existing dealer network got shafted.

You can find the locations on motoguzzi.com.au
I see they have some in stock still, according to their web site at least. Will check the guzzi site out thanks

A1 are no longer a dealer.

Thanks for that Pete - didn't know. What model is the Geelong bike?

Coming up the West Coast we have elk. The first one I saw on my trip was standing by the side of the road. I slowed down after that.

If you've never seen one up close imagine a deer the size of a horse.
These guys hung out around my house in Cali all the time. I miss them.

Kev, if you want to see some Guzzis in Melbourne, the Vic club is heading to Mitta Mitta for the weekend & are meeting at the BP servo in Montrose at 9am Sat. I don't know how close that will be to you. Otherwise the 59 Club usually meets in Healesville on Sundays & there is often a few Guzzis in the mix (& more in their garages). CIMA also used to do social runs on Sundays there. Lots of Guzzis around in Melb if you know where to look, but like most places, it's an underground - once you have a contact or 2, you'll run into loads.

Thanks mate, I'll keep my eyes [emoji102] peeled. We rode out to Healesville last time I was over (Melbourne ride). Doubt I'll get out much this time though, helping my boy move back home for a while.

Cheers

Well, I didn't get the chance to perform an autopsy. The assessor got to it at the tow truckie's yard and has written it off.

So the quest begins for a replacement. Right now there's a good deal on a bike in Geelong in Victoria that is being considered. Not a V7 but still a Guzzi...........

Since Wyno lives in Geelong I may be able to kill two birds with one stone, drop Wyno's *Refreshed* Griso back down to him and pick up the other bike for the return trip. Savings for both! Bonus!

Pete

3rd one if it's possible Pete, I'd bung in a few bucks if I could buy Clancy's write off and you bring, any idea who & when for auction ?
Have an old V65 that'd like that motor & more, has a Lario in it now, could be future project to combine the two.
Is on your way too, specially if you get ferry and avoid Melbourne

Glad you're ok Clancy I've only ever hit one, last year and got away with it, luck not skill I just braced myself for it and ran over his tail, fingers rubbed him
Apologies for jumping on your bike, but just what I was looking for, a smashed V9 possibly better, but close enough

Well Pete did all the searching, the leg work, the questioning & the bargaining for me and, as he stated, has even offered to collect it for me.....so this morning I put down the deposit on a Griso 1200SE  :thumb:

Guess I need to change my signature line now....

So you'll be able to hit the next one going faster but with a bit more mass and inertia in your favour maybe the roo will come off second

Most common thing you're likely to hit over here is pheasant - many MANY years ago I had one of them take the windscreen out in my 1st car a mighty (and very rusty) Hillman Imp  :thumb: :thumb:

Glad your on the way to recovery Clancy

And be able to tow the BBQ to cook it on afterwards  :food:

My wife's first car is still parked, unregistered, unused, not running, out the front of the house.
It's a Hillman Hunter and she won't/can't get rid of it.

I had a Humber 80 first, it rolled over. Then a Humber 90 followed by a Hillman Hunter - best of them all.

Also hit a pheasant in my co car. Picked it up & took it home to cool up. Not that great but we didn't know how to cook it properly.

very different animal
The Imp's a bit special, the Hunter notsomuch but you at least will get it when some cockney git talks about a Hillman coming, time to clear up
Just another punter

Kiwikev jumped in, Humbers more plentiful over there than UK, we had one for ski season in 84, rearranged the boot word to BUMMER, wired BBQ grill on top, carried skis and stuff for 8, 6 in the car, me and missus on Guzzi. Only in NZ do you get cheered for getting up icy mountain on bike, except Hutt, of course, had to hide bike cos they were upset !!!

You didn't see my Imp

Special it was not. There was pretty much as much rust as there was metal, forever blowing head gaskets, and had ultra grippy (NOT) cross ply remould tyres fitted but I did fit Hallogen driving lights to it that would make the generator charge light illuminate when I switched them on.

Still it was my first car back in 1980 and I still have fond memories of it

Hilman Imp powered Enfield from the 70s

I was thinking I took an Imp for a test drive once after my Humber 80 rolled over. Now I remember it was a Riley Elf, a pimped up mini. Wasn't that impressed and bought a Humber 90, much more room on the back seat which was a requirement back then. Don't ask me why - lol.

Chuck, just be thankful you weren't born in Old Bilmey or her Commonwealth.  Otherwise you would recognize all these shitbox vehicles.

Think they had more than their share
of lemons Dave. Just technology and mfg practices back then , like the Brit bikes - had to teach the Japanese how to do stuff then let them show us how to really do it.
