California 1400 suspension
« on: May 03, 2017, 10:43:47 AM »
California 1400 owners,

Have you put aftermarket suspension bits on your bike?  Did you think that they were worth it?
So far, I've only found suspension components (cartridges and shocks) made by Matris.  Are there other options?

And yes, I've looked at the thread on Guzzi Tech.  Just want another set of feedback.

I've found the stock remote reservoir shocks on my Custom to be entirely up to the task for this type of machine. Haven't ridden a Touring, so can't comment on those. When the OEM units need replacing, though, I'd definitely be interested in aftermarket options.

I have done the Matris conversion on mine.  A great improvement but very persnickety on the adjustments, taking a lot of trial and error to dial it in.  You will need a betters et of rear shocks to compliment the front - Ikons did it for me.

The stock setup on my 1400 Eldorado works great.

To renew this, Hagon matched for my weight on California Touring rear - tremendous improvement in both comfort and handling.  Recommend highly.
