I am not a fan of those red wheels and why would the day-glo orange panel on the fairing be painted black? Easy enough to fix, prices on these keep climbing.

850 Le Mans. Really no such thing as a "Le Mans 1". Priced a bit high IMO.

I've heard that before and disagree.  Just because when the 1st Le Mans was built they didn't know they would build more later they should not call the 1st series a LM I ?   The LM II and LM III are 850s too.  :boxing:   Then  we have the CX100, LM IV and LM V 1000s.

Featured in Cycle magazine and mods by Woods Motor Shop both of those things add value though how much  I don't know.  The Lemans I has always been the most collectible of the series.  Come to think of it my T3  has some mods by Jim Woods and was featured in a Clement Salvadori Retrospective column in Cycle magazine then again it's a T3

I remember reading the article, although unlike a lot of similar Cycle Magazine articles of that era I don't have a copy.  If I owned the bike I would leave it in the same configuration as it was in the article.  It's not worth the asking price regardless.

A few years ago Mike Vogt had a really nice LM 1 that had been modified with rear calipers on front forks and a wider rear rim for a wider rear tire.  He ended up swapping it for a nice 996 Ducati.  The 996 was so much more  powerful it was unbelievable.  I have ridden both.  From that point on he's been riding Ducatis.

I'm with Wayne on this. Queen Elizabeth the first was known only as Queen Elizabeth until QE2 came along. Only then did she become QE 1st

No such thing as a Le Mans IV or V either. They are 1000 Le Mans. The only numbered Le Mans imported into the USA was the 850 Le Mans III.

There was an SP II but we don't refer to the one before that as an SP I.

I often explain to people that I am Jim Carey the 1st,

that other Canadian so called actor who stole my name is the 2nd.

Reminds me of "Office Space".
Samir: No one in this country can ever pronounce my name right. It's not that hard: Na-ghee-na-na-jar. Nagheenanajar.
Michael Bolton: Yeah, well, at least your name isn't Michael Bolton.
Samir: You know, there's nothing wrong with that name.
Michael Bolton: There *was* nothing wrong with it... until I was about twelve years old and that no-talent ass clown became famous and started winning Grammys.
Samir: Hmm... well, why don't you just go by Mike instead of Michael?
Michael Bolton: No way! Why should I change? He's the one who sucks.

Yep that about sums it up.

I get pretty tired handing over my credit card to have some 20 something shout out "Jim Carey! ..... do you get that a lot??"

I usually reply, "no your the first", the real dumb ones believe it and then go into 'don't you know who Jim Carey is???

I usually make it a policy never to make a joke about someone's name. They've always heard it before. The one time I coul;dn't help it was when I met a lady called Aileen Into. I replied 'corners when I'm on my bike' when she introduced herself. But seriously, what were her parents thinking?
