Stelvio Pannier Scaffolding Easily Removed?

So can the pannier mounting scaffolding be easily taken off and put back on?

All depends on how handy you are, but I would ask why? It's not like it is incredibly in the way once the bags are removed.

I've never installed or uninstalled the racks but I can't see it being very hard. As mentioned though, why would you bother,nt hey really aren't intrusive in the overall scheme of things.....

Because with the panniers off, it's purely an appearance thing.  Unfortunately for myself, I'm big on how something looks to me.  Most of my riding is without panniers.  Most of my riding is sans panniers.

Soft bags only for the GRiSO, can't imagine boogering up them fine lines with bracketry.

Soft bags.  Not a bad idea if the Stelvio pannier brackets are really tedious to put back on once they're off.

Probably what I need to make sure the Stelvio's brackets aren't a stressed/functional member of the bike's chassis.

Not hard.

a couple up top, one on the foot rest, cross bar, done. Might be 30 minutes tops. Not exactly something I'd do on a regular basis.

You might look into the euro style bags that fit closer to the body. Some here have fit them and like them. Not cheap, but narrow and better looking (if you can still get them).

C-Bows are held on the Griso by two bolts (each side).  This gives you the option of hard or soft bags, and also preserves access to under the seat.

Yeah.... yeah those are the ones.  Just don't care for the big tubular steel rectangle... er.... I mean trapezoid.... sitting there.  The NTX has a beautiful exhaust and that bracket interferes with the looks.

Well I know the brackets on my Cali just refuse to fit properly for some reason. I have to force them on for some reason. It bugs me no end!

Just took my Stelvio pannier mounts off the bike to grease the swingarm bushings.   Not completely necessary but I like room to work.

Easy to do but note where the spacers go, they fall out and roll around when the bolts come out.

Can be put back on two-handed but after fiddling for a while, I called Fay to the shop to hold the mount in place while I held the spacers with one hand and inserted the bolts with another.
