Cal 14 cruise control

Since I purchased my 14t, I have had issues with the cruise control, being extremely hard to engage at first, and finally almost impossible to engage. Searching this forum and Guzzi tech, I noticed several who mentioned that arming the cruise required a hard push, for 5+ seconds. I found my issue, ( poorly designed cheap plastic shite), and the cure. Finished up and tested successfully today. I was smiling today when the easy 2 sec push and engage worked as advertised.

 Nice one, mine has always been a complete pain to use. So much so, I've hardly ever used it..
I'll strip it down & see if it has the same problem. Thanks for the info.

Just got back from the first ride with a normally functioning cruise control. So much nicer to be able to do a light, 2 second push to arm, and then just a light push to set. Hardest part was waiting to get the level of the epoxy right. Capillary action on the sides made my filler center concave, so had the do a couple of additions drops of epoxy to get it level. Well worth the effort and wait for cure time.

Although I have not had any trouble with mine, it looks under designed if you will. Thanks for the post! It looks like an easy preventive fix. I also saw on some thread or another, (maybe the one you linked to), about putting a rubber adhesive nub on the button to make it stick out a little further.

Another thing I have wondered about is weather the switch gear from a Touring SE could be adapted. the Mode button has been moved to the other side so the cruise can be located on the left hand block. It also gives more functionality to the cruise, with resume/accel/coast features. What I don't know is if it can really be adapted. The ECU may use different logic to operate so it may not be possible. At the very least, wiring would need to be adapted a little since some functions have switched sides.
