What's the purpose of this connector? Should it be plugged into something? Comes out of fitting on left side under tank in front of petcock bung. Thx.

UH OH , you haven't touched it have you ? Doing so will void the warranty and cause the rotation of the Earth around the Sun to reverse

To answer part of your question...YES, it does connect with something (as seen on my 75th ANN. MG Cali 1100), however, I would either have to take off the gas tank to identify the function or attempt to decipher a wiring diagram.

Breaking News...went back and took another look. It is connected to the low fuel sensor (located on the bottom of the gas tank on the left side). Perhaps the sensor went bad and was disconnected to avoid that pesky low fuel warning light???

Looks like the fuel sender connector. Mine doesn't work either.

It is the low level fuel sensor. They usually turn on somewhere between 100/120 miles from full tank in combined riding and a bit more 130/140 in steady cruising mode ( higher MPG).

Don't worry about it . Your blatter will give out before you drain the whole tank, I have the same problem on my Convert 6gal tank and a 60-100 mile blatter

I have a disconnected one my Strada. Low fuel sensor was removed. Haven't checked but IIRC probably have one on my Cali III too.
