In the late 50's I ran a fuels distribution section in the Air National guard. We had a small group of F 51's, T-6's, C-45's. Merlin's or Pratt's, they're all big fun. I was friendly with Robert Fulton, Jr. from ~ mid 70's 'til his passing. He used to promise a ride in his F51. It needed some catch-up on maintenance issues.

A fellow Guzzi fanatic called today asking if I'd like to do breakfast. A C-45 as transportation. It's been 60+ years since I've been in one. YES! Some days are better than others.  R3~

We went to an airshow recently with demonstrations of both a P51, and a P40! Then they flew a dual demo!

Interesting to hear the difference in sound, both from the engines and the airframes.

In the early seventies, I worked with this old pipeliner who had a welding rig that could handle even the largest rods. It was powered by a V12 Allison...
