I take long trips on my klr and use it as a pack mule to all the shooting events I participate in. So with it's bags and a goodly load my gps says neither of the two klrs I've owned has been over 91mph. [Speedo said 100]  But maintaining a steady pace everywhere I've been hasn't been a problem. I don't do the iron butt type riding, my average is only 650-700 miles per day.

So I know he's going to enjoy having one. I gave my oldest son my 2012 klr and he's gone from not thinking very highly of them to being one of their biggest fans. He's currently a car service manger but was primarily a motorcycle mechanic for many years.

Hey, I see matching color gloves.  I may have to look for more colors to use out in the shop. Nice.  Mike

So carry on with that .... and let's hear that KLR fire up when it's back together so we can share that rare and happy feeling ....

Sorry about that. The battery's deader than a mackerel. I came in to fix dinner after showing him that the drive chain was too tight, how to *properly* install a cotter pin, and how to sharpen a lathe tool bit after he tried to cut down an impact socket with a HSS tool.  Oh, and what carbide is all about..
At any rate, Dorcia just said he was leaving with it on the back of his pickup.
It'll run..

I have a really funny story involving the guy who owns FSSNOC , was there when the incident happened at a Guzzi rally in about '97 . Problem is , if I tell it a mod will ban me  Some of you old timers from Oklahoma know the story . Remind me at the Okie , it is a really funny story

Phil in Tulsa is a FSSNOC-er .... Beside his Griso & Monster, he rides a 250 Honda Single, DR400 and has a DT-1 on display at Barber's.  I would guess Phil is about 75.

But this is quite a single.  Phil built this single based on a Norton(s).

This one apparently has the guts for a kick starter covered by a plate, much like the Guzzi distributor block off plate. He's planning on making it operational. Also looking for a purple seat to finish up "the look."
