Cassiar Highway, BC.

The HD dealer in Fairbanks had lived/worked in Sierra Vista, AZ and...living in Tucson at the time, we spent a good part of the day trading Sonoran desert tales. He poo-poo'd simply heading back to AZ on the Alcan and said the Cassiar would be more extreme. The road was fun, but on an '88 Softail with a 4 gallon tank, I remember sweating bullets looking for fuel. Got lucky and spied a "Shell" sign peeking over a berm somewhere along this route....

Photo taken on a rural border crossing between Germany and Denmark last September. Picture towards the danish site. We got a lot of blame from EUSSR for pushing for border control, apparently this crossing was not affected.

Here I've just ridden up the Elan valley and am now heading down the Ystwyth valley toward the coast.

It was supposed to be a lonely highway photo, but then THIS happened as I was snapping the picture:

Tortured Plateau, White Pass, Yukon.

Hwy 50 in Nevada. If I'm correct I have the award the state gives you.

Glider wins!  Nevada indeed!  And a very secure place to let the horses run free!

Highway 50 - wonderful scenery (winter or summer (although the temps can be daunting in the summer)...

Tex...you're correct...must have posted while I was posting!  Do I want to know what the state award is?  Sounds dangerous and unpleasant...hence the presence of an anti-present system installed always!!  :)
