Cheaper, tiny Griso 8v available, and a question

Here, in 1:18 scale, a "collectible" metal/plastic model of a Black Devil Griso 8V:

https://www.amazon.com/Welly-Die-cast-Guzzi-Motorcycle-Collection/dp/B01N0RONW3/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1506202287&sr=8-12&keywords=guzzi+griso

I post this for those of you wanting a desk-size version of your Griso. (I've got a different one, a Starline model of the 2v, in 1:24 scale, that I can ogle in my office.)

Here's my question: This model looks like it's been peened all over -- or hit with 1:18 scale hail -- when you blow up the pictures, which leads me to wonder how it was made, especially considering how almost incredibly accurate the details are. Are these things being made by scanning the full-size object and then printing 1:18 molds via computer??

If so, it's one more sign I've outlived my era.

The Starline plastic one I've got is quite smooth, btw, but essentially just as eerily accurate.

Thanks if anyone can throw light on the production methods.
