Flyscreen/Windscreen on V7II
« on: October 24, 2017, 09:11:05 PM »
Hey just checking to see if anyone has added a flyscreen or windscreen on a V7II?  I am not in to windshields but am thinking of adding a flyscreen or windscreen at least for the winter.  Has anybody used a Dart model or something else?  Not interested yet in a full windshield.  Just seeking feedback on them.

Thanks!

Lots of people have the Dart or Dart Marlin.  They look nice on the bike and provide some relief to wind pressure at highway speed.  I had a Dart, but now have a Chic Design Samurider cafe style fairing.  They make a version specifically for the V7/V7II that is very well made and a perfect fit.

Looks like a nice piece but $300-350+ shipping. Wow, like my Over Racing sliders, kinda pricey.

Op, slightly different riding position on my V7 (MKI) but I've used both the Dart Classic and Marlin.

They both do a decent job of lowering wind pressure to the chest. The Marlin sorta directs it near my helmet at highway speeds. Not bad with a FF, but not ideal with a 3/4.

I'm going to try a universal fit fairing, but I could return to the Marlin.

Like Kevm, I have the dart marlin.  Great price and fit is spot on.  Lifts the air off the chest.  Mostly smooth air around the helmet..  depends on the tilt of the marlin and your height.

+1 it does depend on your size.  I tried a Marlin (I'm not a big guy), and found that it really doesn't make that much of a difference.   Plus I'm not a big fan of the looks so I took it off.

I found the OEM windscreen channelled the air to the visor, but the Guzzi flyscreen works better, just covers the instruments, stops instruments & gunk getting in there, looks good if painted to match the bike, but really doesn't seem to do make much difference to the wind. It's worth having a go to see if it makes a difference for you. The re is an aftermarket version around in alloy - don't remember the cost.

I had a Dart to protect the clocks after getting a little condensation in the warning lights, it looked good but for me very little wind protection and a bit more wind noise. I then fitted a MRA adjustable screen even on the highest position there was more wind protection but still noisy , so then I fitted a Givi screen it has 4 mounts instead of only 2 on the MRA and is more stable, but still noisy unless I dipped my head down. So the final solution, I drilled the Givi and fitted the top half of the MRA screen to the Givi. Bliss it is the best screen I have ever had. Hope this helps Steve.
