Anyone have a theory what could be wrong with the carbureted red Sport 1100 with the heads removed?  Only 400 some odd miles.  Looks complete otherwise.  I'm sort of interested and only 60 miles away

I mean besides the missing heads

After looking through a lot of the pics, most of the bikes in this auction have a lot of corrosion.

most of the bikes do not have titles, talk to the auctioneer and they were working on getting them i think they only had nine titles i'm in ohio is a real pita to get a title they no longer accept title from title service companies as legal paper work.

Matt - If I remember right, I think Larry took the heads off to help support Andrew Cowell's race efforts on the Raceco Guzzi in AHRMA.    Bruce Blake from Michigan Engineering (also now deceased) was also helping Andrew with it.  I remember Larry looking for replacement heads many years ago.

I think the bike was a running, riding bike prior to the heads being pulled.

I have to skip the Auction due to work (and the fact that I already have projects for the next 10 years)

From what I heard about the pre-auction that happened a month or so ago, there were some pretty good deals to be had.  I would stack up all the V-7 Sport stuff at least if I had money/space/time.

Good Luck

If at first you don't succeed, lower your expectations.

While not able to provide titles, it's my understanding that Larry's son will be at the November auction. As the heir (and a lawyer), he as the authority to issue documentation that should convey legal ownership to the buyer. Of course, that's only the first step to obtaining a title, but it's an important one.

As a matter of conjecture, I'd suspect that some of the bikes with ultra-low mileage were never sold or titled. Somewhere there must be a Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for such bikes. At least in the automotive world, it's possible to apply to the original manufacturer to replace a lost MSO. I wonder if Moto Guzzi/Piaggio would be in a position to help? Most likely the passage of time and changing hands of the importer would make this an unlikely pursuit. But maybe not...

I'll be going to the November auction. Will anyone else from WildGuzzi be there?

Having looked through the pictures I'm 'Thinking' about going just for the fun of poking around.

Having just picked up a Griso last year I doubt I could get another bike passed the Boss though.

I really wish I could be there.. I want that greenie.. but I just can't take the time and expense of going on a slim chance of scoring it or one of the other V11's..
If the deals are great could one of you guys bid $4,000 for me on the Greenie? or the V1 Lemans. then drop it off in Mpls..
