Not really. I've ordered four each springs, retainers, seats and the total is under $35 not including shipping. Whether any of it is actually in stock remains to be seen.

It should be stock.
Same spring assembly as used in the V7 Classic.

Same spring, retainer and seat I use to stabilize Lario's.
The Lario is not the only mill prone to valve drop, however, it did the "trick" more often as the Lario spring is even stiffer than the V35/V50/V65 double spring
Check the cam lobes and followers - they often suffer from the stiff springs.
...and a 14mm lobe cam shaft is the ultimate upgrade to the SB valve issues - after dealing with the springs. Steep though...

Also, with the Heron head, I would think that the piston might just push a stuck valve out of the way. (?)

The piston pushed it back ...right into the intake bowl..

interesting , my local dealer sells just the springs for over 35$
and adds twice that for the retainers.
so far for the biggest guzzi dealer in europe, time for some shopping

None of these issues have happened since the 750 Breva version came out, right?

MotoMecca spares is a good source for Guzzi parts in UK.

As I mentioned, I bought everything from MI for about a hundred bux. No, it wasn't all in stock, but it trickled in, and I threw it in the Monza box, to be used if/when necessary. So far, the valve train has been stable, but I only have a few thousand miles on it. That little Monza engine is a sweet running thing. Smooth..9K redline.. That may be what caused some of their demise.

My 5 valve 660 cc Yamaha single motor on the 2000 MZ Tour bike has a rev limiter.  Figure it's so the big piston head doesn't self destruct @ high rpms.   Chuck's earlier MZ 660 should have that too.

Charlie, although Piaggio did raise the price on the pieces a little bit , don't forget to tell everyone that Harper's was able to get all those parts for you.

Sorry, haven't done a follow-up on this. Yes, Harper's was able to get everything and at a very reasonable cost even with the price increase. $60.33 including shipping for (4) Nevada springs, (4) upper retainers and (4) lower seats is dead cheap any way you look at it.  :azn:  :thumb:
