My Grandmother lost her husband and Mother within a year. I was just a baby, but it was traumatic for her, need I say? One thing she said that I will always remember is, "Life is for the living." She was right. I've seen this many times now. Of course there is a period of deep grief, but time *will* cure it. Take care of yourself while this is happening.
All the best from us and your Guzzi family..

And remember - we're all here for you if you need us.

I have lost my grandmother to cancer, and my mother in law is currently being treated for cancer. We moved back from Germany to be close to her as she goes through it.

My condolences. I hope you can find the time and energy to get out. Meet with friends, do those things you've always wanted to do, etc.

My grandfather went through a lot of emotional pain, but once he started to force himself to see concerts, take trips to wherever he wanted, etc. He began to heal.

That's the first thing I thought when I realized what had happened.

Fay and I know that one or the other of us will be saying the same thing someday; best to be prepared .... Seeing how others handle it is a real gift to us.
