Funally got me another Goose
« on: December 08, 2017, 10:23:56 PM »
After having my first V50 (never should have sold it)  And a Breva V1100, I got this little beauty.  7,100 miles  PO painted it yellow, I think it needs a change of color.  I'm not fond of red, but that's what was original,  Any thoughts on color?
Thanks Dave Blu

Nice catch. Looks like blue is the right color. You've already ruled out yellow and red, so it's only the color left, not counting green. Black is too cautious.

I've always wanted a blue motorcycle, btw.

Italian bikes (and cars) have to be Arrest Me Red or Fly Yellow.  Otherwise their ancestry is suspect.

The only motorcycles that should be red are Ducatis.

A red Guzzi is awkward, like the body builder woman in the really frilly dress.

Black is way too common, and really more for BMWs.

Yellow might be right on some bikes, but not that one.

Blue is a fantastic color...

...for a Harley!

Gray is ok, but too dull for some:

I think I have the solution:

Nah, white is boring

How blue with a nice silver accent stripe with thin orange stripes on either side:

Orange is an option (or is that just red in lighting that makes it look orange:

I think black on the top of the tank breaks up the red nicely, this would also work with orange:

What would you know? You bought a WHITE Ducati?!?

Besides aren't most of the 30 or so bikes you own rust colored?

Well that Blue is FANTASTIC and probably one of the only Guzzis that should ever be blue!

Of course it makes sense since everyone knows Guzzi IS the Italian Harley!

NO! Orange is NOT an option.

The only bikes (other than the occasional Harley) that should be orange are KTMs!

In my humble and not important opinion, that V-50 is such a nicely proportioned machine, it has has almost perfect lines and it is a timelessly attractive machine that I don't think it matters what color you paint it - it will look great. Make yourself happy. You can change it later if you don't like it. The V-50 looks like such a handy machine and I think that if I owned one it would be my go-to ride.

This is what got me thinking about V50 Guzzis ....

http://archive.guzzitech.com/100k/100k.html

The 100K mile Guzzi list, and Derek Reynolds' 308,000 mile V50 down the page a bit .... !

Funny you mention Blue, my brother has a V50 II in Blue. He got it for his wife to ride after she mastered the Triumph scooter.

Nice options and suggestions.  Did the Pearl white on a V50 once

I'm going for a V7 Sport tribute look, Got the tank and decals - A V5 Sport.  Would like to match the V7 Sport color scheme.

What color combos did the V7 Sport come in?
