Bill has been retired for a long time. I doubt he has been involved with the fires physically. Cool dude though.

I was pleasantly surprised with the various articles in the Jan/Feb 2018 issue of Motorcyclist.  Unlike the oh so common "We Compare 3 Superbikes" type of articles, this issue has some very nice photography and article about two guys riding Aprilias through several of the passes in the Alps, an article on a historical Italian race bike (Ago's MV 350/4,) and an article about Italy's out sized impact on the motorcycle world.  Oh, and the great pic LowRyder mentioned of Bill Ross with his Guzzi, combined with a short article by Bill.  If you can get your hands on an issue, I think you'd enjoy it.

Just got my issue and was also pleasantly surprised.  Not your usual "Guzzis appeal to the odd crowd article."

This is a really good issue of Motorcyclist, with an Italian theme. In addition to the Ross piece and the alpine touring article, there are articles on MV Agusta, Italian design in general, Vespas, the Agostini-Pasolini-Saarinen rivalry, the Guzzi wind tunnel, an interview with Galluzzi, the Via Appia, the Vibrazioni ArtDesign custom shop, how to ride the high passes, and how to find a great Italian sport bike on the cheap (Guzzi content).
