Did you have any boys, or just the girls?

Where I grew up, the tubing rivers hit mid 60s in the summer and the ocean was cooler. 90 was a hot day. I still don't find heated pools refreshing in hot weather. So if it's 80 and the pool is not heated, fine by me.

I have two boys 10.5 and 14.5, and a daughter that just turned 7 last month. I grew up walking distance from a river and was quite an otter (and wave runner) in northern California but my kids are Phoenix natives. I've adapted and get chilly if it's 80 with a breeze. In Phoenix, it's not hot until the temps break 105!

After 118F, Sky Harbor shuts down and resumes flight from around 6P. Either that or they taxi down I10 to LAX.

I was living in Chandler, AZ (early 1990's) when the temperature one sizzling summer day hit 122.

It was so hot, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport was CLOSED because the pilots could not calculate the correct "lift" for take-offs!!

Dry heat or not...that's frickin' HOT!!!

Go there often. Nice folks, and you can call them if they are not open, and they will come down to open it up for you. They have a couple of my photos in their collection.

Not sure if I told you, but I'm in for the full meal deal. As of right now it's just me coming, but Mrs. Utrider is considering riding down with me and flying out of Sky Harbor on Sunday. I will let you know as I learn more.

All you can eat / drink (water / soda, and pizza Fri. night and catered BBQ Sat. night...($25 each for both nights),or you can fend for yourselves. Plenty of great restaurants nearby and in historic downtown Cottonwood!

Sky Harbor is about 2 hours (to the gate) from Cottonwood. Just FYI...

It seems to be a Castellano Spanish word as none of the Latin American Spanish speakers I've polled had ever heard of it.
