There are only a couple of places where air is showing thru , you should get another 500 miles of service at least from that tire .

A couple tubes of RTV and a squeegee and you'll get another 20 miles out of it.   :thumb:

Still got good rubber on the edges
Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism; complete with witch hunts funny outfits and humorless preachers thundering doom. The Deity is Safety; Satan is a Lawyer; but the object is the same: to suck the life out of life and tell you how to live it.

I was thinking that myself.

If I could move the rubber from the edges of my tires to the middle, I get a few thousand more miles on them. I'm not much of a canyon rider, so most of my time is spent on the freeways, not much in the way of hard cornering there.

If you really want to get even more life out of that tire, slalom down the road or while in a straight line hang of the side of the bike and then the other side! Keep the bike on the edge of the tires!

It would be fun to see how wide you could get the chord to show through.

Careful though, it's amazing how fast those things wear the last 50 or so miles.  Get on the bike, it looks ok or maybe a gleam of a steel belt, get to the shop 40 miles away and it looks like yours.

I agree with bigbikerrick, shoe Goo! That stuff is amazing. Being stuck on trike kit, I see a 2 inch patch worn out, with the nibbles still on the rest of the tire. That really sucks.

Me too. Not proud of it, but you couldn't see air yet, so it was okay.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Is that a Triumph Street Triple Rx?

If so, pretty funny.   I had the same thing happen to me.  I thought the Pirelli tires were ok at 5,000 miles, and the next thing I know I am 75 miles from home and looking at steel cords all the way around.

All kidding aside, do not ride that tire any more.  When I pulled off my worn Pirelli, I was amazed at how thin the rubber was in the wear zone.   Other tires may still have a bit of rubber meat beneath visible cords, but not this tire !

No worries SS,  that supercorse is already off . I had no idea it was so tattered until I got it on the lift and got eye to eye with it.  You're right, I cut through the thin spot with a jackknife and could not believe how thin that was. I'll get a couple pic's up tomorrow so others can appreciate how lucky we all can get sometimes. I'm kind of glad the weather changed when it did or i'd have probably popped that sucker by know. I do love the pirelli on that bike but they sure don't last long.  It's on a Tuono 1100 f  with 4,000 miles and this will be my third rear tire!

I don't know about that. It almost looks like the perfect tire for 90% of my riding  :Beating_A_Dead_Hors e_by_liviu

Many moons ago I had a 5.10X16 Goodyear or the like on a '56 Triumph. It was a pretty flat top tire. I did have fun with it up in Malibu as well as on some dirt roads pretending I was a speedway racer

That's easy to do riding on the panhandle (constant wind) in Oklahoma whether riding east or west.  BTDT.
