California Stone 2003 handlebar options

Hi all

Would like to swap the handlebars on my California Stone to something more "aggressive".

Due to the 30mm clamping diameter there aren't really many options for a straight swap..

  - Are the drag bars from the California Titanium/Aluminium also 30mm in diameter?

  - Has anyone fitted different handlebar clamps in order to change the bars? If so - which brand / model?

30mm has limited choices. The thick bars do look good, but I think only Guzzi makes them. Also, they do neck down to 7/8" or 22mm for the controls.

If you don't mind 7/8" bars (my loops have them, but I think they would look funny on my EVT), get a stock set of risers from a Tonti frame. Then you can chose just about any size bars that your cables will fit, or you can build your own cables to fit the bars.

Now which riser works with the stone, I'm not sure. Any help here????

You can get a set of handlebar clamps from a Jackal or an earlier EV as they both have 22mm bars and then you have dozens of options like euro or superbike bars. I have seen clamps on ebay.
I raised my forks about an inch in the triple clamps and put riser clip-ons mounted above the top clamp. It is just the right amount of forward lean for me. I don't need any

handlebar clamps this way and it saved several pounds of weight too.

I have a set of drag bars from a Cali Titanium/Aluminum that I will sell.  I bought them from Reboot Guzzi breakers with the intent of putting them on my '04 EV.  I found that I liked the Jackel/Stone bars better - my arms are too short for the drag bars.

If interested, I'll dig them out and take a few pics.  IIRC the chrome was good.

Half of retail (??) plus shipping from here (Ont Canada K0A 1A0) to there.

I used 7/8 diameter risers x 1-1/2 rise and Emgo Euro Bend on my bike.  Not to low, not to high and all the cables still worked.  One of the issues with bars is the spacing of the riser is wider on a Guzzi upper triple tree than many other bikes.  The clamping area on a lot of bars are to narrow.  Measure and check when selecting bars.
