New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
In todays market, He will be lucky to get $1,000 for the old use high mileage bike. Too many newer bikes with 1/10th the miles out there for sale for less. Nice bike though.
1000 dollars ? Oh c 'mon , that bike will bring more . I bet 2500 .And i disagree that 35 k is high mileage for that bike.
here's a better deal. no connection to the owner, bike is in Florida. 1990 HONDA XL600V Transalp with 7,550 original miles.http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/1990-honda-transalp-xl600v-extremely-low-miles.1274617/#post-34088743
$5,900 !?! Wow! Gonna take quite a smitten collector to pony that up, I'd think .....Lannis
considering the other one cost $3800, and has 35,000 miles. and the second one has 7500 miles, just completely serviced, new battery, extra factory bodywork, exhaust (aftermarket exhaust now), aftermarket lights, taller windscreen, and sidecases/topcase, and a list of other goodies, I'd say it's worth the additional $2100 asking price. but you know what they say about opinions
I test rode one. Was not impressed. There is a reason it didn't last long in the US.
I think they were ahead of the times. If the Transalp had come out ten years later they would have been popular. Same goes for the NT650. They didnt sell well either but when Suzuki introduced the SV650 a decade after the NT they sold a ton of them and theyre still popular today. If I had to choose between a KLR650, Id pick the Honda 10 Times out of 10

The original Tranalp did continue and slowly evolve for the European market, becoming one of Honda's big sellers for a long time. They were very practical so a lot of people bought them as city bikes. I rented one for a couple of weeks around 10 years ago. It was OK, especially considering the very low price, and the seat was comfortable but otherwise the original style Africa Twin sold in Europe was better.I think the value of a 1990 Transalp in Europe would be a few hundred Euro depending on condition - but you wouldn't find a lot of really nice ones.
few hundred Euro?
I own one presently, but it needs money thrown at it to be roadworthy again, and I'm still debating whether to invest in it or not. It cost me $3k CDN in 2010 and gave me 5 years of great service with miserly insurance and fuel costs, so I certainly can't complain. The best part was that the cockpit seemed tailor-made for me.
