V9 Seats?
« on: February 19, 2018, 03:27:21 PM »
Alright, so I love my new Roamer, just not the seat.

What have people tried from the aftermarket or from the factory options and how were they?

I purchased the Moto Guzzi solo comfort seat for my 2017 Roamer...  It's substantially more comfortable than stock, but you'll also have to purchase the separate passenger pillion if you want to go two-up.

I presume that you bought the 2017 and not the 2018 model.
The 2018 model has substantially more padding but forces the sitting position more forward as it does not have a flat bench configuration. Nevertheless I bought the 2018 seat on eBay and replaced my 2017 seat . Even though it can place my legs closer to the heads, I either hold my legs slightly wider on the pegs or I simply slide myself back towards the pillion part of the seat.

Either way it is much cushier and this may be a solution for you.

I found that the gel insert version referred to by the previous correspondent to be only marginally better than the 2017 stock seat and not worth the cost.
I managed to pay about 30% of the rediculously high retail price. Search on eBay etc and Ye may find.

I just swap the pegs with the "euro version" really huge riding position improvement, now I'm looking to change the seat too.
Any other feedback on the "comfort" seat? which one should I buy?
Personally I don't like much the look of the 2017+ Euro version but seems more cushy

Sergeant seats will re-do your stock one for a fair price. I have used them a few times and happy with the results.

I'll chime in here. I bought the Guzzi Extended Comfort tandem seat for my Roamer, and I'm very pleased with the ride. However, it is too long for the Guzzi rear luggage rack. It fits, but it's tight.
Looks pretty good, too.

Are you referring to this seat shown below?  Moto Guzzi have two rear racks, and this one appears to be suitable for the tandem seat: http://guzzistore.com/scheda.php?id=770&x=TOURING+REAR+CARRIER+KIT-MOTO+GUZZI&c=11&ord=data+DESC%2C+id+DESC&b=cat

I also have the V9 Bobber 2017 model (actually, 2016 in Europe), which has the flat seat. I'm think of getting the comfort solo seat + passenger seat. For that, I'd have to use their other rack: http://guzzistore.com/scheda.php?id=158&x=MG+V9+BOBBER+REAR+RACK+KIT-MOTO+GUZZI&c=11&ord=data+DESC%2C+id+DESC&b=cat

This review of the V9 Bobber shows what looks like the solo comfort + passenger seat accessories. I like this option because it lets me strap a softbag to the passenger seat for trips.

I went with a Corbin on mine. I like it. Not as good as a Russell, but I didn't want to give up my original seat. I had a Corbin on my 98 EV and that served me well for a 100,000 + miles.
