If you killed your grandfather before he sired your mom or dad I think you would cease to exist

Every physicist has to have a past time.....lol

The point is that the arts are important enough to have influenced the greatest minds and talents we know. Albert Einstein said that if he were not a physicist, he would probably be a musician.  Mickey Hart

You just created two different timelines. You are the time traveler.....you exist in YOUR timeline....
So if your DNA indicated you are your Granfather's Grandson, (as it would), then you went back to before your own conception and killed him, whose DNA would you have upon your return.
Would it indicate you were the Grandson ?
Question..
Two Native American Indians. (Picture the feathers and spears)
The big Indian warrior is the little Indian's real father, but the little one is not his real Son...
Who is the little one ?

Dunno what the feathers and Spears are all about, but daughters are daughters regardless.

Douglas Adams explains things

Zaphod:   Concentrate on his name.
Arthur:    What is it?
Zaphod:   Zaphod Beeblebrox the Fourth.
Arthur:    What?
Zaphod:   Zaphod Beeblebrox the Fourth. Concentrate!
Arthur:    The Fourth?
Zaphod:   Yeah. Listen, I'm Zaphod Beeblebrox, my father was Zaphod Beeblebrox the Second, my grandfather Zaphod Beeblebrox the Third...
Arthur:    What?
Zaphod:   There was an accident with a contraceptive and a time machine. Now concentrate!

Adams was a lot funnier than Hawking. Hawking did, in some ways, remind me of Marvin....
